AI ART IS NOT ART, IT'S ART THEFT! There is only one way to do art, it's the old fashion way, stop being lazy and learn how to draw, sculpt, paint, learn anatomy, light, perspective, develop your artistic eye and your hand to actually make art yourself.
I've been calling out AI for years since i saw years ago the first AI analyze all of Rembrandt's painting and create a new one as if he would've painted it and i knew it will be a matter of time till AI will replace artists.
Working in games for over 10 years I've seen this industry get more and more automated and the more steps that get removed from the creation process eventually there will be no more steps left.
I didn't become an artist to make my life easier, if so i would've chose a different profession, i became an artist to go through the journey of learning art and developing my skills, it's a ever ending journey of constant self improvement just like life.
AI is not a tool just like any other, a hammer is just as dumb yesterday as it is today, AI is a learning machine just like us except it doesn't go through the hurdles of learning, practicing and failing till the level or art is up to standard it uses patterns to kitbash art from existing artworks made by artist, art that is copyrighted. I have several posts on my twitter mentioning examples and articles but one that i will mention here is after Master Kim Jung Gi died his artwork was fed into an AI without the consent or his family, Greg Rutkowski's art was fed into an AI after he wished against it 93.000 times and was cyber bullied by AI "artists" , the last straw was when someone use an AI to win an art competition as if spitting in the face of all the artists that entered.
Ai can do things faster, cheaper , it doesn't eat, it doesn't sleep, doesn't take breaks, doesn't get sick, etc. so there is no competition. AI promotes lazyness, less people will want to become artists when there is an AI that can create things fast and eazy. AI should be legislated and either censored or watermarked, several people like Micio Kaku, Elon Musk call for legislation, the former CEO of Google said in an article that AI is just as dangerous as a nuclear bomb.
In closing one last thing i want to add, if everyone is an "artist" then no one is an artist anymore!
